It is with a very heavy heart that MI Youth & Young Adults must share an important announcement from the MI National President regarding the cancellation of the 2015 summer programs in Auburn, Washington, Powell Butte, Oregon, and Libertyville, Illinois.
“By now you may know that the retreats for the summer of 2015 have been cancelled. No one regrets this more than us. The primary reason for this is the lack of necessary insurance. Running National programs is always very involved and the changes at the MI National Center have caused complications beyond our control at this time. There is much to running a retreat and making sure that there is proper insurance is an ongoing, complicated and financial concern. The care and safety of our youth is of the utmost concern. We are doing everything we can to resolve this issue for 2016. Maybe take this time to be creative in how your family and friends can spend this time with each other instead. Family Rosary for a week. Daily Mass for a week. Read a spiritual book in common and then discuss it. Watch the Classic Jesus of Nazareth film for the week and discuss it. Go to Eucharistic Adoration as a family or with friends and then out to dinner. Let Our Lady show you how to make her part of your summer in ways that you never expected or dreamed of and then come back in the summer of 2016 ready to share those experiences.”
