“Begin doing what is necessary, then what is possible. Then suddenly you will find yourself doing the impossible!” (Attributed to St. Francis of Assisi)
Dear MI Knights of the Immaculata!
Greetings and prayers upon returning from Fatima, where I attended the MI International Congress, which marked the beginning of the 100 th anniversary year observances. I will share my report on this special event in one of the upcoming MI publications. We look forward with hearts full of gratitude to celebrating the 100th anniversary in 2017 of Our Lady’s appearances at Fatima and the centenary of the MI.
As a starter, I am writing to you today to introduce our new e-publication called:
a monthly newsletter which will hopefully inspire, teach, create solidarity, form and inform. Please feel free to pass it on to others and make sure the MI National office has the email address of every other MI member you know! It’s the least-cost way that we can get news and formation materials to you and your MI friends!
You may know by now that the MI National Council has been asked to relocate the MI National Center. We are now looking for a temporary office in the Chicago area while discerning where Our Lady wants the MI to have a new, permanent location for the MI National Center—USA. She did help St. Maximilian find the perfect spot (and generous benefactors!) for establishing the MI headquarters in Poland and Japan! We are confident she will do that for the MI –USA as well! Miracles do happen and often ordinary people like you and me become instruments of Divine Providence... I have been in close communication with the MI International President, Fr. Raffaele Di Muro about this matter. So be assured that the MI National Council and I are working with the friars of Marytown to make this transition, with all its implications, as smooth and constructive as possible.
In the meanwhile, the work at the MI National office proceeds apace. There is a great deal to accomplish as we handle everyday matters, process new MI enrollments from across the country and make plans for the future. I am gratified to be able to report that support has “come out of the woodwork” in the form of volunteer help and in other ways.
Finally, the MI National Center needs your support in terms of treasure, time and talents. As an MI Knight of the Immaculata, keep evermore in mind our call to be missionary disciples in the footsteps of St. Maximilian and to engage others in Our Lady’s mission!
There are many varied tasks that you can help with as we get the MI relaunched throughout the United States:
spend time in prayer that the MI may generously and strategically fulfill its mission and that the Council will do only the will of the Immaculata in all things.
use your talents to promote total consecration to the Immaculata through the MI everywhere!
If you have any questions, please feel free to write to the MI National Center—USA, P.O. Box 7645, Libertyville, IL 60048, or at [email protected]. You may also write to me directly: [email protected]. Of course you can also check the MI website regularly for new developments.
Looking forward to staying in closer contact with you, I remain yours in Their Hearts,
John W. Galten MI National President
P.S. For any and all donations to the MI please make checks payable to Militia of the Immaculata or MI National. Be assured that your donation will be deeply appreciated and most carefully used for the purpose of sustaining and building up the MI.
