Dear MI Members and Friends of Our Lady:
As the newly elected President of the MI in the USA, recently I was informed by Fr. John Grigus, Rector of Marytown, that the MI National Council must leave Marytown. He cited finances and the changing mission of Marytown to a broader, more diversified vision of apostolates and ministries. This means Marytown will no longer be the National MI Center.
A very large expansion of the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown is being planned, but the plans do not include continuing as the home of the Saint’s great spiritual legacy and gift to the Church, the Militia of the Immaculata.
We have been given until December 31, 2016, to leave Marytown’s premises. The MI National Council shall seek a temporary office while we wait for Our Lady to lead Her MI to a new, permanent location for the MI National Center—USA.
At this time I beg your prayers and financial support for the MI as we soldier on. I know the Immaculata will bless you and guide the MI National to a new home.
In the meanwhile, undaunted, and with the help of the Immaculata, Mediatrix of all Graces, your MI National Council looks forward with great joy to starting afresh in a new location and to planning some exciting events to celebrate the great centenary of St. Maximilian’s legacy in the year to come, including the launching of an e-publication and other formation resources.
So please check the MI website, MissionImmaculata.com, regularly for new developments, and help as generously as you can.
If you have any questions, please feel free to write to the MI National Office, P.O. Box 7645, Libertyville, IL 60048, or at [email protected]. You may also write to me directly: [email protected].
Looking forward to staying in closer contact with you, I remain yours in Their Hearts.
Arise, let us be on our way!
John W. Galten
MI National President
