"I would like to pass along a compliment on your recent MI Camp in Auburn, Washington. It was with some trepidation that I enrolled my 16-year-old son for a different kind of Catholic summer camp this year – a camp that included a Bible and rosary on the packing list! (Imagine, Catholics actually using rosaries and Bibles!) I thought it all sounded great, but I was unsure of how my son would react. Would this straight-forward, back-to-basics approach to the Faith – all in a summer camp setting – be too much?
 
With tears in my eyes, I listened to my son's call last Saturday afternoon, after the program ended. "Mom, it was great," he said, "better than the other Catholic camp! I was consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and my name has been enrolled! I have my own Miraculous Medal! Now, the 'Hail Mary' is my friend! I said two decades of the Rosary this afternoon, and then another decade, when I was upset (about a grandmother's health issue)."  Wow!
 
Sometimes, someone outside of the family can take the messages which a parent has been trying to deliver for years – to approach a young person in a setting, among peers, and break through on a new and deeper level! Thank you for  the gift of bolstering my son's faith! May God richly bless you in your efforts!"
